Trachoma

Trachoma is an infectious eye disease caused by the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis and it is spread by direct contact with eye, nose, and throat secretions from affected individuals.

Endemic disease is found in rural areas with limited economic means and poor sanitation and water supplies. Risk to travellers is low.
